If it was a simple typo, I’d agree with fat fingers. Some words sound the same but are spelled differently, and are misused. Had that drilled for many years.

Just my pet peeve.

I halve a spelling checker
It came with my pea sea
It kindly marks for my revue
Miss steaks eye cannot sea
I've run this message threw it
And I can clearly no
It's letter perfect in every weigh
My checker tolled me sew

I think that job classification has been outlawed.

Autocorrect on the iPhone is the devil.
If I type the letters El, ElkTurdBurglar automatically pops up. 🤪

Having a first language would be nice, but I'd probably screw it up two, like the only one I have know.

Don't really care. I write the way I write. Other people can write the way they write and I can choose to read it or not.

Mostly, I don't read long blocks of text with no capitalization, punctuation, or paragraph breaks, especially the latter, and especially on small screens. Not worth my time. The writer is obliged to convey his or her meaning clearly and succinctly to the reader. It's not on the reader to decipher whatever meaning the writer intends from gobbledygook.

Lazy is lazy, whether it's an unwillingness to communicate well or an unwillingness to learn how to do so.

I could not agree more or say it any better.

I also don't bother trying to decipher certain slang, military jargon, "mountain man" talk, or attempts to appear cool or part of an inside clique. I'm not putting anybody down, just saying to me it isn't worth the time or effort.

I'd like to buy a dangling participle Pat.

I have a book that has brief outlines in it of what Lewis and Clark wrote in the journals of their expedition and some of the words they used were not spelled right. These were very important men and had to have been fairly well educated. Another person that comes to mind is Richard Proenneke that built a log cabin on the shore of the upper lake of the Twin Lakes in Alaska. He kept daily journals and they are now in book form. I have them and in reading them he misspells and misuses many words. You likely know his story ironbender. He was a very accomplished man.

Diagraming sentences, splitting infiniteness, dangling participles, I'm not so smart.

This sounds funny but the truth. Anybody can make mistakes. Nobody is perfect with spelling and grammar. We all can commit the same blunder.

I count eight errors in Pat's sentence.
