For my uses, +30mm tubes are a swing and a miss. Same here. Whats next, 40mm? Where does it stop? All the resources and development are towards the tacticool crowd and us hunters are left to compromise. Then maybe with those big gooduns you might have yourself a " magnum scope". Ready for any type of hunting.

Not ALL that long ago and the tables were reversed. I think manufacturers are decent at following the money, which is probably why the LRHS 2 is 4.5-18 only and they skipped the 3-12. I liked that configuration better, but I certainly didn't buy enough to change the trend, and apparently neither did you or the rest of world. Regarding the MK 5, a good friend had good results with a 3.6-18 and wore out a few barrels under it. He got a 5-25 and it totally grenaded in short order. FWIW...

A multifunction tool; hammer, wrecking bar and wheel chock.
