My neighbor was complaining before deer season that the only 243 shells he could find were $60 a box. I told him to bring his empty brass to the house and we’d just make him some. That’s ridiculous.

I'm starting to think I should get a 300 Weatherby to save money on ammo.

The economy is falling apart. The currency is worthless, which brings about a high cost in things in the country.

But you can rather go with a 300 Weatherby to save money on ammo.

I gave my 30-30 and ammo to my brother recently.

Didn't like not having a lever 30-30 so bought another. Trouble is, I am relocating and building a house, so no loading room!

Won an auction for 10 boxes of 150gr Core Lokt for $256.

Given all I have seen, that didn't seem too terrible.

Let me see...... there used to be this thing called reloading. Not like some of the people I know that decided to reload after everything went to hell.

Prices are just going to go up from here. If you can find what you need, you had better get it,while you can. I am afraid this situation is just going to get worse, and worse.

I've been reloading long enough I don't pay attention to what factory ammo sells for these days. However, I do believe $30 - $40/box it a bit high for 30-30.

I think you should celebrate being out of Evan Williams and buy some decent bourbon.

LOL! I’m more of a quantity guy rather than a quality guy. That should probably change as well.

Noticed this here yesterday, "Bottled in Bond" was all that my 2 closest stores had[of any EW].

bottled in bond is the best they make, and all I"ll buy if I can find it.

Love the EW BIB and it's still plentiful here. I am stocking up on it. Figure it will disappear. Haven't been able to find any Early Times BIB in over a year. It's my favorite cheap(er) BIB. We can still get Old Grandad BIB here, too, regularly....but it's not my favorite.

I have a case of Win 30-30 150 Gr that I haven't tapped into yet. I just shoot my reloads normally.

I’ve always reloaded. I’ve never killed a head of big game with factory ammo. What surprises me every year is the number of hunters who must live in a vacuum. Every year I’ll get calls from acquaintances a week or less before the season asking if I know where to find ammo since they cannot find any. And apparently are unaware of the ammo situation. Often from the same guys who asked last year.

.30/30 lever gun is the cowboy assault rifle, and is a pretty good choice for someone who doesn’t have or want an AR. That’s why all the ammo is gone/hard to find.

Not that you can buy components to reload at this point if you are starting right now....

We run both. No use in high dollar bourbon in a mixed drink with coke.
I wouldn't drink bottled in bond or any Evan straight. Maybe on enough ice and desperate. but having a few cases I might have bourbon after others could be out...

Yeah, because everyone starting out today has been a reloader for 40 years. You do know that new people come into the fold ever year, right?

Oh yeah. I'm talking about the thousands that have got into it since the [bleep] hit the fan. Most should've done it when things were at least a little sane. But no!

Today at Wal-Mart there were 4 different kinds of 30-30 ammo.
$23.97 per box with 3 box limit.
It is usually in stock.

I reload shotgun. 25# bag of shot was $33 and is now $50. Powder was $115 for eight pounds, now $215. And W209 primers? Were totally unavailable for about a year. Were k$3.30/100. Now $11.92/100.

Don't blame me. I voted for Trump.

Democrats would burn this country to the ground, if they could rule over the ashes.
