Watch has given way to the cell phone, but otherwise yes.

Gas was between 25 and 30 cents when I started driving (legally). Draw yer own conclusions how long ago that was. And could fill up my car for $5.00.

that may have been 1970 in Oregon, or 1967 in a tax state.
Oregon on a hitch hike up the west coast. cigarettes a quarter, gas a quarter. too young to buy beer, but it was 1.25-1.50 a six pack for good beer. about a quarter a can. about an hours pay to buy a six pack beer.

I remember when cars came without radio and heater, even back seats, as standard equipment. Ads would list the price “ Radio & Heater included!” 3-speed manual transmissions, shifter usually on the column, were standard even into the 70s.
Don’t recall exactly when, but sometime in the 60s, seatbelts and side mirrors became required equipment And I remember when you turned the car radio on, you had to wait for it to "warm up"... And only had AM stations.

I was thinking the other day how much I used to hate Bill Clinton. He was freaking George Washington compared to what they are now.
