Wanted.: 20 ga. Browning Auto 5 (not the newer A5 gas-operated gun). Japan or Belgium doesn't matter.

I do not recall a light 20 in an A5. Light 12, yes. I certainly could be wrong.

Yes, they made a LW 20 I’ve got one but not planning on selling it.

Some of the 2 3/4” Belgium guns (don’t remember the era) have “Light 20” engraved on em. Some have “Twenty.” They are the exact same gun though. Unlike the two models of 2 3/4” 12 gauges, there is no difference at all that causes one to be lighter than the other.

That's a decent looking "old" one. It may make a good candidate for the rabbit gun I'm wanting. Saw the barrel off to about 24" and leave it cylinder bore.

^^^
Yes, ALL 2-3/4” Auto 5 20ga guns were of the lightened configuration, period. The only ones that weren’t were the 3” magnum…though there was the custom shop superlight, that was even lighter in weight.

Those Super Light 20's were made in very few numbers and limited production. They had aluminum receivers and were only available in Europe IIRC. The 2.75" guns were marked "Twenty" until the 3" magnum guns came out. After that there were "Light Twenty" markings for the 2.75" guns and "Magnum" for the 3" guns.
Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

It is just marked "Twenty". The designation was changed to "Light Twenty" later on, but still the same shotgun. donsm70

I had a 24” Skeet choked 20ga Superlight for a time, backe when I was collecting. If you have the original box, with two bar codes (one for gun, and one fir barrel once it got to Utah) then the box was worth as much as the gun, at one time. I’m not afraid to mod a ‘normal’ A5.

I have one that is only a handful of numbers away from that one, but with a vent rib. Marked "Twenty" as well.
