Did the ks rifles have a run of the mill 700 trigger or was it a custom shop piece?

Put a Trigger Tech Primary in it and smile every time you pull it.

Remington 700 Varmint Specials were built by Remington Custom Shop and Walker triggers feel like they were tuned to 2-2.5 lb. I don't have KS and wonder if the triggers feel adjusted.by the shop.

Mine has a regular trigger in it but I wasn't sure what they came with. It's a decent trigger as is. I assume someone has adjusted it at some point in time. I'll probably just use it for now.

They were pretty crisp triggers from the factory.

I bought one of the 700 American Hunter rifles that they came out with in 2019. It was advertised as having an "enhanced" Xmark-Pro trigger. Supposedly meant it had a good trigger pull, I presume. It did not suit me, so I replaced it with a Trigger Tech. My point is that it's possible that Remington's custom shop did tune the triggers that were on the rifles built in their shop.

I have a Varmint Special in 7mm-08 and I don't think the trigger is all that good. Never heard that they were made in the custom shop?? My Model 7 custom shop KS has a nice trigger. It is a .350 Rem mag

My 700 original AWR has a very crisp trigger. It looks like a normal factory trigger.
My 700 APR does have a different trigger... Physically looks different with an adjustment screw on the bottom. It may be a 40x match grade trigger but I'm not a Remington expert.

40X has an adjustment screw in front of the trigger shoe. The crappy Xmark-Pro has an adjustment screw in the trigger shoe.

Confirming the screw adjustment on my Remington APR is in front of the trigger shoe. I'll add that the trigger on my APR is really, really nice. It came that way from the Custom Shop.

The awr ii (fluted barrel and b&c stock; custom shop) had the 40x trigger also. These came out around 2009 - so after the ks run was over. I haven’t seen a mountain ks with a 40x trigger - but I have to think if someone really wanted one the, the CS could have put one in for a customer.

From a copy of a 1986 Remington brochure... "The trigger mechanism is hand assembled and tested to ensure crisp, reliable performance, shot after shot".
