He had 21 previous criminal cases. Common theme.

sounds like a real clusterfuck Yep. I don't blame the officers, they did their best not to kill him. In my 30 year career I took chances and didn't kill offenders I legally could have. As a habitual offender the big question is why wasn't he locked away for life. This criminal justice "reform" is a disaster.

Nothing. Sit in a parking lot and do nothing. Proactive policing is basically career (and possibly literal) suicide.
Explaining "poor numbers" is easier than explaining the op clusterphuuck.
In a normal time, a well trained officer can easily justify deadly force when a possibly armed suspect is trying to get in a police vehicle (with a k9 in it). Make it rain......
But we live in bizzarro world

Should have shot the SOB when he started getting in the cruiser. I thought they learned long ago to not leave keys in the ignition?

Some cruisers have a built in safety, in other words they won’t move unless you know what button to push.

How many times have you suddenly came to a stop during a high speed pursuit, and immediately went into a high risk stop? Did you immediately take the key out of the ignition?
