I purchased a McMillan KS left hand stock for my son’s rifle for a solid deal off eBay and wanted to pass on the potential deal for others as the seller has 8 left.

Link:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/324168198980?hash=item4b79ee2b44:g:z58AAOSw8Ehev~-v

I’m fairly pleased with the deal as I offered him less than asking and got a better deal. I do have somewhat of a gripe. The grip has a chip which I know can be from a bubble from McMillan.

The damage could have happened in shipping but there were no little chunks of stock in the bubble wrap that I found. I notified the seller...

I’m not super pumped about the response of “bondo” but what can you do. A sorry would have been reasonable.

Anyway if you’re looking for an upgrade and willing to roll the dice you can deal with him with full knowledge. His eBay listing sounds a little grumpy gun guy-ish

I guess I’m off to spend my “savings” on way too much bondo and some paint. Or just let the boy rock the stock and not worry when he dings it up more 🤷‍♂️

Mcmillian paint on the KS stocks was not very durable but should not have chipped, easy fix matching paint is not as easy. I repainted a KS Mcmillan rather than send it back.

Guys,
These are scarce. Now is the time to buy.McMillan no longer offers the pattern.Nice classic look.Higher comb compared to a Hunters Edge. I just got mine delivered and they are factory new with swivel studs and a Limbsaver pad.Roughly half the cost of a new McMillan.
The ADL set up with these stocks is OK but they could be milled for a BDL w/floor plate.

Same as standard REM 700 LOP.I measured the stock at 13” from the pad to the center of the rear trigger guard screw. Hope this helps.

Nimrod,

What was the barrel channel on yours? The eBay link appears to show a mag ks channel.

The barrel channel on mine is the standard KS.Definitely not magnum. I saw that in the description too.I suppose it can be opened up .
To make a KS clone,I think Lilja lists that pattern.

Benchmark does as well. There is a thread on here somewhere that mentions it.

The lilja standard ks is real close. Their mag ks is exact.

The Benchmark and Hart contour is exact for the standard ks. PAC nor may have it as well.

Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.

The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.

Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

Defiance,BAT,or one of the others can be found easier than a Rem 700 SS action. I know they cost a lot more, but so do any SS LH 700s in today’s market.
Gunbroker sold a LH 700 SS 270 Win. Which I think was the XCR for $1175.00 recently.

If you can find any blued REM 700 actions, they will be at least $500.00.
