More trees! LOL!
From seedling to producing nuts takes a pecan tree seven years.
I planted pecans in a tub and put them in my yard. Some I may never get to see produce, but it will make the property more valuable.

So far, I've planted 12 pecan trees, 5 black walnut trees and 3 bur oak trees.

Plant more trees. Claim the "surplus"! LOL!

Crows are the easiest to control, shoot a couple and hang one in n each tree. They won’t come back. Dog proof coon traps for the coons. Squirrels and jays………. Shoot, shoot, shoot……… repeat.

You probably already know this, but keep those black walnut trees away from other crops. Black walnut trees put off toxic sap that will kill potatoes, blueberries and many other crops. Might also kill pecans I am not sure.

Ive got tons of black walnut(some huge) and they are very close to some of my biggest pecans (even huger). My pecans seemed to be in an "off" year with many having no nuts at all. Some of the more productive trees were of more moderate size <2' diameter. Those pesky Jays were extremely good at keying in on the most productive and telling all their buddies. There were many dozens in all the better trees every daylight hour.

Now if I could just train my army of armadillos to leave my beans and wheat alone and key in on the litter under those pecans. Not sure how trainable armadillos are, but they sure are ugly.

I've gotten my traps for the varmint control work that needs done. Coon coyote and beaver top that list. Though the beaver home in on the hackberry exclusively, once in a while an ash. The quantity of coons is just unbelievable most likely because of my huge trees with many being hollow and perfect coon housing, especially the burr oaks and ash.

What is the difference between a grove and an orchard?

I will take your word for it, that black walnuts will not harm pecans. But don't try them out with potatoes or blueberries.

An orchard is laid out in an orderly fashion - usually measured.

I don't know how the farmers do it - might ask elkhunternm.
I know theft is a MAJOR problem in the southern part of this state.

Shoot and trap the.varmints. Like someone else said. Shoot and hang up a dead crow. One of my friends Has been hanging a crow on the fence after he seeds a food plot. They don't come back.
Squirrels are good to eat and good shooting and hunting practice.

Quite by "just because", the walnut trees are all on one side of the property. Garden and pecan trees are on the other side.
House sits on about 2 acres. Total farm is 80 acres.
Three ponds, one wheat field and an occasional creek. (when it rains!)
Some deer. Lot'sa ducks and geese.

Rat traps, like mouse traps but on steroids. Drill a pilot hole about an inch in from the staple that holds the jaw open. Use a deck screw to attach them to the boles just below the first branch. Don't screw them in too tight or you'll split the baseplate. Bait with peanut butter with pecan chips mixed in. Squirrels and jays both will volunteer to be killed.
