ribka; Good afternoon again my friend, thanks for the comment.
While I did know that the super bowl was yesterday, I am somewhat odd as a Canadian in that I don't follow any sports on any level, though I did learn enough about volleyball, basket ball and competition jump rope when our girls were involved in it. Hey, I learned to appreciate jazz too for our eldest and her boyfriend at the time, now her husband of 6 years... but I digress.
The point I have been attempting to gently make to as many as want to listen is that if we are going to suggest something as simple as "follow the science" then we have to question whose science we're following first and then what causes the differences in interpretations of how to deal with that science.
While it's unpopular or perhaps fatal to suggest, I'm not anti-vax in all circumstances as everyone should make as informed a decision about whatever medical issue might or might not be coming their way and then act accordingly. I respect both sides of that position and understand it in more depth than I'm willing to discuss on open forum, you know?
Where I take issue - as Ben Dichter said this morning - is mandatory vax rules which limit, suspend or have any effect on a Canadian's rights and freedoms in any way, shape or form.
Even though I profess to be a Christian who is right of center for sure politically, I'm awake or astute enough to grasp that we need to cling to some of those basic principals or it's going to be used against either me and my kids or my kids and their kids when I'm gone. Again I'll say that I'm not attempting to convert anyone to the way I believe, merely attempting to articulate where I'm coming from and nothing more.
Peripheral issues that I have with the legacy media and most politicians from both sides of the aisle reading from the same script provided them is another windmill for another day, attached at the hip to the current situation as it obviously might be in my opinion.
On this and a lot of things, including my faith for sure sir, it's been a process, a journey of learning where all I was wrong and what I need to change. I do not believe for a second that I personally "have arrived" or have "the answer" or maybe any answer anymore. I do have a bunch of questions, boy do I ever.
They are voting on whether they literally go to war against their own people, a people who are supposed to be free from a tyranny government as guaranteed in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
The fact they are even having this vote in this situation makes the government void on its face.

For many, freedom is a malleable term — one that's open to interpretation. That flexibility, in part, has fuelled its growth among certain groups, said Barbara Perry, director of the Centre on Hate, Bias and Extremism at the Oshawa-based Ontario Tech University. "It is a term that has resonated…. You can define it and understand it and sort of manipulate it in a way that makes sense to you and is useful to you, depending on your perspective," she told Cross Country Checkup. It's also a term that has thrived among far-right groups, said Perry, one of a number of experts who say the presence of far-right groups in Canada is growing. […] Evan Balgord, executive director of the Canadian Anti-Hate Network, says the way many protesters frame their calls for freedom renders the word meaningless — and what they're really asking for is a shift in government policy that could potentially have a negative impact on others. "When they're yelling they care so much about their freedom, they're taking freedoms away from other people who don't have the same kind of agency and choice that they do," he said. […] To see the word freedom bandied about as part of these protests points to a broader circulation of what Elisabeth Anker calls "violent" forms of freedom. "Freedom is a slippery concept," said Anker, an associate professor of political science at George Washington University and author of Ugly Freedoms, which examines the history of how freedom, as a concept, has been used in American society. "On the far right, [individual freedom] is often translated into somebody who refuses to be bound by norms of equality, treating all people equally or norms to remedy inequality, whether that's trying to remedy racial discrimination or gender discrimination."
What in the fresh hell is this? Again, it’s not shocking that they perverted the word. Everything the Left touches dies, but all this ‘woke’ nonsense obviously is aimed at curbing freedom and being all-around normal in society. What’s best is that it’s again the college-educate whites peddling the most insane concepts that no one will accept. To drown out all this crap, just keep honking fellas. Also, no one thinks like this. That’s the beauty of freedom. You can outright ignore these mentally ill degenerates.
CBC, global, CTV, etc are pure slop and will do anything to spin, lie etc to make it so their spin gets put out there. Everyone I meet is now getting their news off the internet. These media are ok for the weather and sports reporting at best. You can't even watch a hockey game without racism getting shoved in our face, the only racism I see is against white people, why lie.
I think as we move through this thing people are going discover the real target here is the "Charter of rights and freedoms". The human rights aspect in any Countries constitution is a pesky stumbling block for globalists with the goal of a one World government. That would be why Canada and the USA are having their constitutions relentlessly attacked, if that isn't obvious to you, then you are a problem.
I think we will find that resistance is futile when you have a dictatorship, it looks like we have that here. Trudeau has a dictatorship within his own party and it is beginning to manifest outward in the house of commons and I would expect into our Justice system as well, I wonder where that will end. In the words similar to our enemies, resistance needs to be re-imagined.
It would be great if other Countries could impose sanctions upon Canada for their potential human rights abuses, we are hedging the human rights abuses now, going over the line even if only a little bit will become gross human rights abuses in the coming weeks with the emergency act thrust upon the entire Country. Sanctions from who? a Country that hasn't a constitution or provisions for human rights? If this act is passed, it will have been passed without the head of state having any dialogue with the parties involved.
Lets remember, this started as a protest against mandates, those same mandates are suddenly dropping all over, but yet, here we are, and despite what looks like opposition to this tyranny, there isn't any.
I believe it is our constitution that is the target, our charter is special, the globalists, evil, Trudeau, Klaus Schwab, big money, the NDP, the Liberals, the schills in the conservative's, all hate it.
The only terrorists in Ottawa are the Liberal party of Canada members and supporters.. The only money laundering has been Gerald Butts, Bill Blair , Bill Morneau & dipshit Trudeau.. hiding the payouts from Moderna and Phizer. Some say up 20%cost of the first shot. The only one planting fire arms , and false flag protesters is Gerald Butts hidden Antifa criminal buddies. Make no mistake Trudeau has started a civil war .
Don’t sweat the petty stuff, don’t pet the sweaty stuff.
My Canadian civics knowledge is pathetic, granted, but if I understand it correctly...The Charter of Rights and Freedoms of 1982 as wonderful as it is, was in fact, a list of rights and freedoms, granted by the GOVERNMENT to the people(how generous of them). As opposed to the US Constitution, which affirms the rights of the people are a God given birthright which no government can take away. The US Constitution limits the power of the government...more precisely, the 10th Amendment, which more or less says, "if it ain't a power laid out in the Constitution then that power shall reside with the people". The whole point being, it seems to me, a power granted by the govt...can be taken away by the govt, at the stroke of a pen. This is not a criticism in any way, but is an unfortunate fact. And admittedly, through apathy and the ceaseless drip of socialism, cowardice of the court system, US citizens find themselves in the same boat as the cousins.
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.
My buddies Dad is fairly well off and has a fair bit of savings and investments , he says he is transferring it all today into Canada savings bonds .. if they sieze it they flit their own throat. They won’t really give him a return bit for the 30 days the act is in effect his money should be safe .. I’m not big on the banking aspect or tax implications but maybe pass the word around .

I fail to see the strategy here. He is giving Canada his money in case they seize it?

Many in Parliament are ignorant of the Charter too, here is the first line.
"Whereas Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law"
Just watched a CTV interview where they were asking what they termed was an expert - a Doctor from Etobicoke - about Skidoo Doug's announcement to lift pretty much everything by March 01st.
She did her best to monger all the fear she could, but he said that actually the vax passport could be gone already!!!
Funny how the message/science can change so much overnight isn't it?
If one would believe in such things, it'd be a miracle, but since we just believe in the science we can take heart knowing it's now changed albeit rapidly.
Was interesting anyways I thought - will link it for anyone wanting to watch, but that's the short version.
A cynical person might think this should give Prince Hide 'n Ski a reason to do likewise without declaring anything, you know?
We'll see what they say this afternoon.
Dwayne
Its mandates. Why CAN"T you stop everything today. This instant. Why not???
We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....
rost495; Morning again my friend, I remain hopeful that you're well.
Since you've quoted my post I'll attempt an answer, though as always you're acutely aware I have no inside scoop or special knowledge.
When Prince Hide 'n Ski first refused to meet with the convoy and when he spoke of them framed them as racist, misogynists white supremacists he planted himself in a corner from which no compromise or mediation could take place.
Why he did that is the question without a clear answer.
Some have said that behind the scenes he's an extremely controlling and manipulative personality, with a huge ego which does not allow him to view any of his own actions as wrong - ever.
Other have said that he's not bright enough to have arrived there on his own - a classic post turtle if you will - and that he's following orders - for .... reasons...
Both stances make a lot of sense when viewed as objectively as is possible, in my opinion.
In summary then IF you were coming from a position of strength that allowed you to be wrong and learn from it, then there would be no logical reason you could not stop everything as of now. For that matter, even if you weren't that, you would still be able to find enough "experts" who had "settled science" that would allow you to stop it right now. That's pretty clear too at this juncture.
And yet, here we are.
Again we appreciate all the prayers you or anyone care to send our way.
