Here it is folks. Any confirmation of this as an actual true event wanted.
Sorry I don't have the rest of these photos. Hold on. I'll have pics in a minute or three. *The following text is not written by me and I therefore provide no guarantee for its accuracy*
Read Before Viewing Photos! Vacation in Alaska, anyone? The first 2 pictures are of a man who works for the Forest Service in Alaska. He was out deer hunting and a large world record Grizzly charged him from about 50 yards away. The guy unloaded a 7mm Mag Semi-auto into the bear and it dropped a few feet from him. The bear was still alive so he reloaded and capped it in the head. It was over one thousand six hundred pounds, and 12' 6" high at the shoulder. It's a world record. The bear had killed a couple of people. Of course, the game department did not let him keep it. Think about it. This thing on its hind legs could walk up to the average single story house and could look on the roof at eye level. The last picture is of the human meal the bear was enjoying when the deer hunter walked up.

Urban legend. These photos have been circulating for several years and the story that goes with it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. From what I remember, it's a fair sized bear, but nowhere near world record. It's not 12+' at the shoulder and it never killed anyone.
I do believe the guy WAS charged by the bear though.

Whoa!!!!! Please don't confuse me with muleskinner! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />.
No "bad" necessary. It's an impressive photo and those are BIG bears, which make the story believable. I didn't mean to come across as a jerk. If I did, my apologies.

The 1st two photos were in the Stars and Stripes Newspaper a couple years ago. S & S is the American newspaper for military overseas.
Any way, the guy that shot the bear was in the Air Force stationed in Alakasa.
The 3rd picture is not related. About 10 of my buddies have emailed me those pictures and man I wish I still have the Stars and Stripes article, but it's long gone.
