Other than inventing a new structural extruded polystyrene board with tapping abilities for screws... think pink insulation polystyrene board... structurally load bearing (horizontal and lateral) with a cross-section like "Head Cheese" (HDPE ping pong balls) so that it can take a screw anywhere (siding on the outside... drywall on the inside... no studs required)... just stand it up and go...

Try looking a screws with something along the line of expanding sleeve on em??
Out of similar plastic material.
Extra water sealing for outside with a plastic or rubber washer like thing for metal roofing.
