Yep, buddy called me yesterday, he's been looking for a Semi-auto 20 youth for his girlfriend:

"I'm @ a gun show, What do you think about a Syn stocked Beretta 390 20Ga youth for $525?"

Me:

"Hang up, go back to the table immediately and give him the $$ before someone else sees it."

Calls back:

"The guy let me have it for $490, it's all the cash I had on me."

Have one that started that way. Rebarreled to 22-250ai then Sami 22-250 and McMillan stock. Love that gun. If I got my paws on a .222 I’d bed and float it and go from there.

Set a rifle on a gun show table marked $650.
Dude came by and we haggled down to $575.
Came back later and handed me a fist full of cash. I counted $550.
Thanks but no, you're $25 short!
Guy grabs his cash and walks off.
Got the gun home and checked value on the internet!
YIKES! Glad the guy walked off! Same gun valued at a solid $1G!!!! 🤯

79S: Good for you on the super cool and great condition Remington!
And good for you on what I think was an excellent price!
That is a keeper.
I hope it shoots as good as it looks.

Mr. TooDogs & GRIZZ: I have already "fallen" once!
And I am now 13 days into my second bout of abstinence/rehabilitation for "gun-nuttiness".
I do say though, if I had come across that nifty Model 600 I would have had to jump on it also.
There are just to many enticements out there.
Again, come on Big Green, somehow get back to your glory days!
The 222 Remington is one of the top 5 (five!) cartridges of all time - in my opinion/experience!
Long live "the Deuce".

I was a wee lad when they came out and was not yet hunting. For some reason, I wanted one in .350 Magnum so bad.

I never got one and given availability of the .350 mag, I doubt I would.

I went ahead and made do with a Wichester M94 in .30-30, which I still have and has put numerous deer in the cooler. Probably just as well.

That's a nice find ya got there, and .222 was the first cf cartridge I ever fired.

Love the 600 action! I believe it's one of Remington's best!

They are great in the brush. They don't hang up. They have pretty decent barrels. 600s and 660s are great for shooting offhand. I have a soft spot for them.

i have its much bigger brother, the 350. i'd a bought that 222 in a heartbeat. FYI, they had a recall many years ago to correct a problem of the gun going off when you take the safety off if you pulled the trigger with the safe on. you can tell if it was factory modified by looking at the trigger guard. i had mine repaired by remington for free. some folks think that devalued it but i do not care. here is some info.

I saw one in a pawn shop in Tuscan about 4 years ago. The stock looked like death warmed over the there was freckles of rust on it but It appeared to be restorable. They wanted $700 for the gun. I said no thanks and left it there. I sometimes wonder if I made a good decision. If it wasn't for the fact I was going to have to pay for shipping as well I considered trying to talk the guy down. It was a unique rifle with that crooked bolt handle and all.

Have a similar looking unit in 6mm purchased about the same time for $99.00. Excellent trigger. Been usurped by Cookie as her dedicated deer/pronghorn unit.
