Anyone have knowledge of, or ever use this powder. From what I can find online, it is very similar to H4198 powder, and a good powder for the 444 Marlin. I have a lead on some here locally in Florida, but thought I would ask here first, to see if anyone has ever used it, or has an opinion of it. Thanks.

Hint: It's in the title (W-680); the same as real old AA1680.

I don’t think it’s the same as W-680. Only thing I can find online is it is a Russian surplus powder for resale here in the US, and is very close to H4198.

If its like W 680 or AA 1680, its faster burning than 4198, either one of them...

But I own a 444 Marlin.. 1981 vintage...bought new for $219.00 if you can believe prices were once that low..

My main powder I use, and still have about 30 pounds of....SR4759....

I've used 1680 in it also.. and its pretty similar to SR 4759...

I run my bullet ( 300 XTP) at 1750 fps....and since that bullet has no aerodynamics to it, I give up about 10 yds of point blank range...
while reducing recoil like 50%....

I dropped my biggest buck ever with that load, and that bullet and that rifle...at 150 yds, at 30 below zero, in Northern MN, about 50 miles south of International Falls..
a buck that weighed 350 pounds on the hoof...it took the deer down after the bullet cut a 5 inch sappling in half about 2 feet in front of the deer...

the charge was 35 grains of SR 4759.....I'm sure 1680 would do the same thing...
