What I find interesting about Tal though is how she managed to play with so many huge talents at such a young age
Not a big fan of her singer song writer efforts though.
I agree. I have listened to her own music and was not a big fan, but the talent certainly is there in a big way.
I think her age and very youthful attractiveness didn't hurt her career start either. She is somewhat of a youthful visual foil playing with the old sorts of Jeff Beck.
Saw Geddy and Gene Simmons twice.. Been bouncing through a bunch of old rock videos.. Benjamin Orr was pretty good, and gone way too young. Rick Ocasick been playing with Roy since 2019??
I find it interesting that there were only 3 mentions of McCartney, but if you asked all of the other bass players mentioned, most would say he was a major influence if not thee influence in them playing the bass in the first place. Does McCartney have the chops as Lee? No, but you have to look at what was going on at the time he was paving the way.
That would have been a great time to see Sabbath! I spent alot of hours playing along to their first few albums. I saw them on their first tour with Dio.
A shout for Joe B. Maudlin of Buddy Holly’s Crickets. Cat was hell on double bass & Fender Precision bass. Sho’ nuff’.
Waylon Jennings was playing bass for Buddy Holley when his plane crashed. Gave up his seat for Richie Valens.
