Cause it was a portion of my overall Job as a 11B a long time ago in a galaxy far away.
And I am interested as fuuck how the Ukrainians are doing with their Javelin system.

This is the old school wire guided Dragon certificate.

My submunitions and pancakes were fughing up during qual and cost me expert by one engagement table.
Some of you all might know what that means.
At the end of this course I was given a ASI of C2H.
Dragon gunner and Instructor.
Train company level AT teams on use and tactics.

I have noticed a severe dearth of after action reports. Guess they are too busy to write em.

I got to shoot a live Dragon back in Jan 87 in Korea. It was kind of cool, I really didn't expect the rapid popping sounds as it flew down range.
I got the E9 ASI coming out of OSUT. I was the driver on an ITV for my first year in a line unit. I transitioned to the Bradley after I got to Ft Bliss.

Fire and forget. Shoot and scoot. Lot better than having to hold the target in the sights. Top attack was good too.

Was an engineer on initial build.

Then fast forward about a dozen years.
And umpteen #,s of platoon and company crews trained to standard worldwide in other duty stations I had.

This is what homie was doing sept 11 01 with 8 other PSG,s and 9 Bn master gunners when we was 86ing the Dragon and feilding the Javelin

Each one of us desiginated trainers after completion of the course would go back and train their own battalions 3 line companies AT crews 18 total crews, gunner and ag for 36 trained solidiers on the Javelin with C2 identifiers.
Useage.
Employment.
Gunnery and Qual
Live fire grad...

Bn master gunners handled all logistics, feilding paper work, ASP storage and draw issues for their Battalions, gunnery qual areas and times on Campbell army airfield and live fire range.
Took a big burden off us trainers to focus on gunner skills and just have our guys at the right place for training them.
30 days for a entire division to have 171 fully transistioned Javelin crews from Dragon crews.

So I am kinda interested in How the Ukrainians are doing shoving Javelins up Russian armor azz,s and turning their tanks and crews into slag heaps of shattered steel and crispy critters body parts.

👍👍👍👍👍
Yep....
Thats about it....

Whole lot easier to maneuver with a Javelin than the TOW dismount system that's for sure.

We called APC a rollin coffin because a determined gook with an rpg7 could turn one into a molten cauldron pretty damn quick.

No schitt man!!!

👍👍👍👍
Thanks for your work.
Really mean that
We used em on tech vehicles
Fedeyeen toyota,s with DSHK,s in the beds outside karbala.
Fugged em bad...
Real bad.

Never got tank engagement against the Iraqi army with em.
For obvious reasons.
AF took care of most of em.
Or they simply abandoned them...

Only tanks we got to shoot were hulks on ranges.

Which dont blow the fugg up as dramatically like ones with fuel and rds on board.
Some pretty good vids out their on what a Javelin can do to a real combat loaded tank.
I have posted em before.

Let some guys google some clips up outta curiosity.

Thanks for your work man.

Be interesting to know if any Javelins might have gotten some helo kills also in Ukraine, which it can also do under certain conditions.

The British have apparently sent a bunch of their anti-armor systems over there too. SLAW or something like that. Some sort of acronym.

The 2014 conflict provided useful reports. Expect this one will too.

That 113 heater sucked balls. If they weren't breaking down some knucklehead would put flammable stuff to close to it. That same January range that I got to shoot a Dragon one of our 113s got a little scorched when someones sleeping bag caught on fire.

You shot missiles and blew stuff up?

That is awesome and good luck to the Ukrainians.

Supposedly the Ukrainian T-64’s are better equipped than the Russian T-64’s.

Lets hope so!!!
They are knocking out russian armor severely

Im just wondering their light infantry forces level of training on tactics alot..
Kill boxes.
Anti armour ambushes
Use of restrictive terrian.
Fall back to cache point of missles and anmo to get set again.
Even throw in AT4,s and the improved Carl Gustave RR,s in the anti armor fight.

It interest me alot.

Hell for all I know some of the guys that helped feild and train them might be some prior service guys I know from over the years.
Only so much you can do.
Backbone is a big thing in combat too.
These Ukrainians seem to have some from all the fragmented reports here and their.
