With all of our sanctions, why are we still supporting Russia by buying Natural Gas and Oil from them?

With all of our sanctions, why are we still supporting Russia by buying Natural Gas and Oil from them? That is quite the mystery. Maybe if we were still energy independent we wouldn't have to be buying from anyone. But by golly we’re gonna be green.

And how about all the Money, those same idiots make off of Ukraine. There is a ton about this that we d not know. I feel main stream media is not telling a whole lot. Not a big fan of bullets flying, but pretty damned convenient that all of this is happening at this time.

Because Democrats are fugging losers.
Progressives are the most open minded, tolerant, and inclusive people on the planet, as long as you agree with everything they say, and do exactly as you're told.

Saw this and agree completely! How many actually realize this? Not enough. It will cost us dearly eventually and perhaps soon.

Some answers here: President Obama and his then-vice president, Joe Biden, were fierce opponents of the fossil-fuel industry for both of Obama’s terms. They opposed the Keystone XL pipeline, forced states to adopt "renewable" energy like wind and solar, issued countless regulations that killed hundreds of coal-fired power plants, and restricted drilling and exploration of natural gas on public lands—policies the United States has once again adopted under President Biden. In addition to having a negative impact on U.S. economic growth, these policies caused numerous nations to turn to Russia for low-cost energy. Instead of importing fossil fuels from American companies, the European Union has become dependent on Russia, which is now the number-one source of natural gas in Europe, supplying about 41% of the region’s supply. Russia is also the largest supplier of crude oil and coal. Due to the Biden administration’s failure in leadership, the United States has never looked weaker. Because much of Europe now depends on Russian energy, it can’t afford to stand up to Russia’s hostilities in Ukraine — or anywhere else, for that matter. The Trump administration attempted to convince European nations to depend on the United States’ vast natural gas production instead, but such appeals largely failed because European leaders knew Donald Trump wouldn’t be president forever, and that a Democratic administration would swiftly attempt to scale back fossil-fuel development. Or, in the words of one energy expert wrote for the National Interest in 2019, "Why bet the proverbial farm on a U.S. [liquified natural gas] supply across the Atlantic if there remains significant doubt as to whether a Democratic successor to Trump – particularly as 2020 candidates endorse the so-called ‘Green New Deal’ with varying degrees of enthusiasm — would continue with such plans?" https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/clinton-obama-and-biden-caused-ukraine-crisisThe article also details how most of this is on Clinton, Obama, and now Joey.

We also export oil, all of the fossil fuels are traded on the world market, we do not keep it at home, thats part of the major problem. And Yes NG's get it's own special tankers for transport.

You are correct. A Russian shipment of LNG was received and offloaded up Boston way. That’s what I was questioning. Your questions do remain to be answered concerning these purchases in today’s world. So much for these heavy sanctions, eh.

If they don't incinerate the Russian dead maybe they could bury them and in a couple thousand years we could pump them up them as oil.

There have always been war profiteers- - - - -at least as far back as the yankee invasion when Enfield sold Pattern 53 rifles to both sides, and blockade runners got rich keeping the south supplied with goods the damyankees tried to strangle off. Wheeling and dealing in black market tires was common in WW II, and the CIA shipped tons of southeast Asia drugs on Air America. I'm not surprised that oil and gas doesn't care about the politics of the countries where it's harvested, nor where it ultimately gets consumed.

Does the US still import oil from Russia? Russia provides only a small share of US oil
However, eight per cent of imports still came from Russia – an average of 22 million barrels per month – and that share has been steadily rising. 1 day ago
