i was just wondering whether anyone had any opinions on companion 8x20 travel binos in terms of either the leica trinovid bc-series or the swaro swarobright pocket series.

also, does anyone know what the relationship is between leica and minox? who owns whom and who produces what for whom.

thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I know several on these boards who use, and admire, the Leica 8X20's. You might do a search for their impressions and opinions.
Personally, I played with my ex-wife's 8X20 Zeiss enough to give it top ratings as well. I bought a 10X25 based on my experience with her glass. It was a mistake. The 8X20 was much easier to use because it was much easier to hold steady.
I have not noticed any comments about the Swaro Compacts. E

I like the Leica a little more than the Swaro. Both are excellent.

Leica took over Minox in 1996. Not sure who produces what for whom.

I love my Leicas. (8x20) I've never tried Swaros, but I'm sure they are fabulous too. I'm hung up on size and Leica is smaller than the competition and that sells me as much as any feature when comparing with the others.
