I have a barrel which was put on a small ring Mauser. I would like to have it put on my large ring Mauser. It is a gradual taper and there would be room to chop off the threads and rethread it.
Does someone on here want the work and can you tell me what it would cost?

I have seen two barrels on LR Mausers (one I removed, one I installed) that had threaded bushings installed over a threaded smaller diameter shank to allow fitting to standard LR Mauser threaded receivers.
This might be an option for you, although I don't know of a source for such a threaded bushing. Given that the threads and diameters are well known quantities, a good machinist could make one. The bushing I installed came with a barrel I bought from Midway perhaps 20 years ago.

I believe you would be better served to just find a LR barrel. They aren’t that rare.

What cal?? I have a 30-06 LR and can be talked into a SR barrel
There are 476 ways to do it, but here is how I do it: I turn the barrel shank to .811 to rough it in. Thread the barrel shank to 13/16-20. I take a piece a round steel (CM or SS), sometimes I use "S" cams from when I do brakes on my truck or trailers. I turn it to the OD of the barrel then turn it to the OD of the action threads. In the pictures I threaded it first, but now I attach it to the barrel before threading it. I drill the bushing to 3/4", bore the bushing to the ID that I need (about .76"), then inside thread for a pass or 2. I'm not good at inside threading so I only do a few passes. I then use a tap to finish the threads (the most labor intensive part!!). Slather the threads with JB Weld and run them together. When cured, it is ready to go on the action for final fitting, then it comes off to be chambered.
This barrel was a 6 BR something for a 700 clone. I shortened it a bit and turned/threaded it for the 13/16-20 bushing. It will end up a 6 Rem on a LR Mauser. I will have a buddy with a surface grinder take some off of the bushing on the barrel side to make it very flat. When I'm done, I hope to not be able to see the seam.
Seems I can't get pix to upload. Anybody that has more smarts than me - I can email them to you and maybe you can get them into the post.

This is a heavier contour small ring blued 257 Roberts barrel I bought as a takeoff from wisner.
Planned to chop the threaded part off and put LR threads on.

They may have been rejects from Shaw or Green Mountain. Many came with a bushing.
