Well damn not calling anyone uninformed here but truth of the sniper shot on that general is a whole lot simpler than what you all came up. Real fact of the matter is simple the rifle was a US Army leave behind in Afghanistan, yeah a Remington platform to boot. The "sniper" carrying it got out of his Russian APC slipped the safety off and it discharged accidently impacting at a low angle and ricoheting into the general causing his death. Analysis has shown that by taking the safety into fire position it went off. The only unusual thing was that the bolt handle didn't fall off after the shot. I got the "intelligence" of what really happened off mainstream media. Sorry no link...mb
