Last night the Washington State House of Representatives past the bill banning magazines with more than 10 rounds. The Senate passed theirs last week. Now it will go to the Kings desk for his signing. It goes into effect "IF" signed by our King on July 1.

The bad news is that you are under the thumb of the Ninth Circuit, so lawsuits are useless unless the United States Supreme Court grants cert., which is highly unlikely and will take years.

Did you see if existing weapons are grandfathed? IOW if someone already owns a 17 round pistol, what does the law say?

Yep, if 8 rounds of .45 ACP aren’t sufficient, carry 2 pistols🤣

I was recently talking to a local gun dealer about the current lack of demand for .40 S&W guns and ammo. He attributed it largely to mag capacity, particularly new gun buyers who would rather have more rounds to spray than learn to shoot. Of course there's enough high cap 9s out there now to outlast our lifetimes but perhaps some folks will start to reconsider their cartridge choices.

I am reading this and it permits anyone who has hicap mags to continue to possess them. However new ones cant be imported into the state or sold by anyone. SO a law with of hole that really affects noone who already owns weapons and hicap mags. However your kids, when they become of age, will not be able to have what you have. Or if you move to Washington then you wont be able to bring in your hicap weapons.

A dumb as law made by dumb ass people. As if a 10 rd mag will limit one's abiltity to create havoc if you are allowed to possess unlimited mags or tape them.. Its not like everyone is running around with full auto weapons needing to lay down cover fire! Thats about the only time you would burn thru alot of ammo.

In a few years they will probably try to amend this law to outlaw all hicap and change the penalty to felony. But the same amount of people, if not more, will continue to be killed by gun fire in the interim.

We'll see how that goes shortly. CRPA is asking for SCOTUS to hear their case, which was won at the three judge level in the 9th, but overturned by the en banc panel.
