LGS got one yesterday.
Not into plastic but have a p365 ( wonderful ) and HKp30L.
So......4.5" 10mm is deer legal here.

Run over in a few and if they still have it......

Was thinking 1911 in 10mm, but for the price/ capacity and optics ready, hard to pass on the new Smith.

Anybody got one yet?

I picked up a 4” no safety 10 days ago. Feels amazing in the hand, well designed for size and weight. And…it shot like crap. 2.3” groups at 10 yards with what is usually a 1.2” group or less double tap ammo. Jammed consistently with both mags it came with about half way through each mag. Sent it back to SW yesterday. I’m so disappointed.

Damn... hate to hear that. I'm an M&P kinda guy, have three 9's and a .45 and have zero issues with any of them. I had high hopes for the 10mm release. Did you try any other ammo other than the Double Tap?

Only tried DT ammo. It’s my gold standard in terms of accuracy and reliability. That stuff always runs well for me in every 10mm I own. It’s also the lowest power level I’ll consider for a woods gun. Which is why I bought the SW. I could have tried CCI Blazer, but would be pointless (for me). I don’t want the gun to shoot 40SW equivalent ammo. I’ll share what SW has to say.

What bullet weight? DT had some 230gr fodder that was very problematic in some pistols.

All 200 grain. JHP and Lead hard cast. I have pictures up on Glocktalk - I'm same name there. I think DT's JHP is made by Nosler.

I have shot some Buffalo Bore and quite a lot of Underwood heavy hard cast and hollowpoint from my Glock 20 with no issues.

Have you ever noticed any "smilies" on your brass with these heavy loads?

I have been shooting the wisconsin cartidge 180's, and they perform great, although, that damned kimber launches them a damn good distance, so finding them is always fun.

Looking around, might go for a Delta Elite if they can handle the thumpers.

Mine, the 180 JHP's & 200 Hard Cast, just say, "This ammunition is for use in firearms in good condition." No mention of any specific firearm.

That was from memory. Direct quote on Underwood 10mm 220 gr. Hard cast "Warning: Cannot be used in Colt Delta Elite or any other firearms with rampless barrel due to complete lack of case support."

Also sorry to read this. I like the feel of Smith guns and was considering one. I have an XD 10mm with the shorter bbl (?4.5 IIRC). It’s pretty easy to shoot and holds half a box of ammo. I’ve carried it in AK and figured I could at least make a bunch of noise before the bear killed me. Buffalo Bore hard cast 220’s are easy to control in this pistol. I think my XD is ugly as a mud fence, but it has been reliable. I’ll wait to read more about the Smiths before I try one.

Yup...that's as specific as it gets. And since I don't like surprises I tend to defer to their "advice!"

Is this due to 1911's not being able to handle the higher pressure? I am surprised I guess that the Glock is beefier?

I can't imagine that currently produced 10mm's of any manufacturer are engineered and then built for pressures less than SAAMI caliber specifications. I also think there's a factor of safety involved in the design. Makes me wonder if Underwood ammo is above SAAMI specs.

357 Sig is SAAMI specs to 40,000 other than Underwood I'm not sure if anyone else loads it to its true potential

I got banned on another web site for a debate that happened on this site. That's a first
