If not, it was close. I've seen serial numbers up to 954.
Presuming they didn't skip over some numbers. I presume they didn't.

I think I've read here, David via Coburn that something ~1100+ were produced. I may have my signals crossed some, but it makes sense. Tooling up for a build of 1000 with enough material to cover out of spec parts, QA rejects, failures, etc. And then basically build/sell all you can.

I think Coburn told David there were 1800'ish made.. but that's just not possible with the serial numbers we've recorded.
I think true 99CE's were limited to 1000. Though we've seen a couple blued CE receivers come out, though none with an AS serial number that we know of.

I'll be perfectly happy to change my opinion when a serial number above 1000 shows up. Never say never..

Seems like the guy running the show would know what's going on. Particularly with a special centennial event. There's probably more to the picture. Were ~1800 99CE rifles actually built? Or were around 1000 99CE rifles built and now there are 800 99CE receivers in the vault where David got his from? Or destroyed? Too late to interview Roe Clark and JTC seems to have moved on. Ron Coburn is retired but has demonstrated a willingness to shed light on situations during his tenure. My two cents is worth just about that.

Ron told me the demand was so great he had another 800 produced. I don't know what to make of the lack of serial #'s above 1000.
