Woodstoves that don't have to be assembled?

Kni-Co used to make one that was about 10x12'', they don't offer it any longer.

I have an Alaskan model and an old Ty-Goat roll-up stove but need something in between.

Not exactly a backpacking stove but I figure you guys would be the best to ask.

Thanks.

Try your DuckDuckGo search engine...plenty of stoves available!

Are you going to be carrying this or is it for a truck camp? For use in a tent or camper?

Kind of stove I could strap to a backpack or carry on a dirt-bike.

I remember you speaking of putting the roll-up stoves together and it being a pain with cold hands. And them not being very durable, > I agree.

A stove I could use while awake, not worried about long burn time.
Something small that I can dump ashes, stuff pipe away and move location.

I own two Kifaru box stoves - they work great if you aren’t trying to heat a large space

This is the small in my supertarp

Don,

I bought it, thanks !!
Everything I found was around 17'' in length, tad too big.

I'll be using it in my black diamond 4 season tent, looks a lot like the Luxe tent pictured with the stove.

Mike, they have changed the door latch on those since I got mine. I like the old-style hook and latch better. But still a nice little stove....

Nu-way stoves have been around a long time, I've been in alot of ice-houses that have been heated with them.

Check out FireBox in Utah, this is just a cooking stove not for heating a tent etc.

I’d look at Kifaru or Seek Outside’s U-Turn stoves.

Seek Outside makes a little Cub stove just for small shelters- you can decide on the optimum stove pipe length for your shelter.

All I can say about mini stoves 6-8”x 8,9,10” etc is that every inch of depth or log length equates to exponential minutes of burn time. Longer burn times are pretty great. I have probably thrown 15 years & 2 cords of backcountry splits thru a Sm & Med Kifaru stoves. They are outstanding. (Just make sure to knock the soot off the pipe before you roll it in a different direction - also throw a scoop or two of sand or a few cobblestones in the firebox. Anything helps.

My small Kifaru stove being fed 6” long softwood burns great for 10mins max before another piece needs to be added. The stove is basically under constant maintenance - warm indeed but constant.

A 12” arctic Kifaru/Sims/KniCo or any other brand fitting 12” logs can burn nicely for over an hour with the same softwood. This is more like the traditional wood stove experience unless someone has a ridiculously efficient back country stove.

Lots of folks here burn wood for heat - I’m sure we could argue enough to make someone smarter…

Bigger is better.

I have the luxe Ti stove that Don pointed out with the newer latch...it works but I'd prefer the hook/latch configuration. I also used a cooking sheet as a base similar to what they offer; not needed but adds some stability. I've been impressed with the little wood burner.

Hope the woodstove is better than their customer service communication, paid for 3/7/2022, no response so far.
