I backpack every year and I like to fly fish, but I do not want to carry the weight associated with waders, boots, etc. Has anyone ever used attachable spikes like Kahtoola, Vargo, Streamtrekkers, etc.? What was your experience? Thanks.

really depends on type of rocks in river . Ive tried various one but think wading boots with with carbide spikes/grips work best overall. I like the Simms. They are a bit softer and eventually wear down https://store.bluequillangler.com/s...2hauDwJItLMqP-6fWUQ1xCtqTTRoCvBMQAvD_BwE

I'm sorry, but crampons sounds like something that has to do with both the discomfort and the staunching of a woman's monthly cycle.

I agree here with the Waders and Boots with the Carbide Screw Heads for gripping/non slippage. The Crampons were a mountain climbing tool back in the day that would work for extra grip on the rock faces. My son used what is similar to the crampons, that you would strap on in the winter time so you wouldn't slip on the ice.'He also doesn't like to get heated up while he's fishing. A lot lighter to pack in, as their small and flexible, and very light weight and pack able.
