The rings and base are made by Lynx in South Africa. Tasco did import them at one time.

Those are Tasco rings and base? Don't think I've seen those before. I had a set on a Remington 7600. They use a floating, double tapered, hourglass shaped steel stud that is inserted through the bottom of the base before the base is screwed to the receiver, with a portion of the tapered stud protruding up through thebase. When the ring is placed over the base and protruding stud, the rings can be perfectly aligned front and rear and the set screws in the lower ring half are tightened. The screws hit a tapered portion of the stud, drawing it up where the lower portion of the stud bottoms out on the underside of the base as the ring becomes tight to the top of the base. Pardon my awkward explanation. I'm betting there's a much better explanation out there somewhere. looks like a clean set-up

Those Lynx mounts(Australian Made for Tasco) are a bit unconventional but are very nice and rock solid. I’ve got a pair on a stainless LH Winchester Model 70(7mm Rem Mag)that came new from factory with the scope base screw holes drilled off-center on the rifle’s action. Mounted a nice scope on the rifle and ran out of windage clicks a foot to the right of bullseye. So, as you can imagine this wasn’t just a little off center…thanks to Winchester’s crap QC during the end of New Haven production.
Started looking right away for a solution to the problem but didn’t care for the looks of Burris’ Posi-Align rings w/plastic inserts.
After some online research I found these Lynx mounts which are fully adjustable (front and rear). Was able to align my scope back up straight with center line of bore and gett’er sighted in properly.
Shot a nice muley buck (300+ yard cross-canyon shot) a couple years ago. Rifle is an honest 2/3 MOA shooter at 100 yds for 3 shots with the Lynx mounts.
Nice rifle and mounts…In 250 Savage!!! Sure wish I wasn’t a Lefty.😁
