Anybody have experience with LVP like the Lifeproof from HomeDepot? Decent stuff? Any recommendations of something better?
I’m wanting new floors for the whole house. Currently have 4 rooms with carpet, kitchen/bath/laundry with tile/ and a great room with hardwoods. With 2 small kids and a couple good size dogs running about, the carpet is hammered, couple cracked tiles, dogs do a number on the hardwoods…..want to go stem to stern with something that will hold up and look good.

Use a LOT of Coretec LVP/LVT. Commercial and residential. I have some in 10 year old student housing that still looks good. For what you described, it’s a perfect product.

We put some home depot stuff in one of our rentals about 4 years ago. The renters in that place are not clean and have 2 government forced in service dogs but last I saw it it looked like it was holding up well. The test will be when they more out. I can't see through the garbage well enough to tell while they're in it.
It wasn't too bad to install and looked out once in. I've seen some at Costco from time to time that looked like a better value so I'd check that too.

Dogs love it once they learn to control the power slides involved.
The top of the line products are soft and flexible, couldn't chip it if ya wanted to. The bottom dollar products are stiff and brittle, more susceptible to chipping during install. Once it's in place it's not so bad.

We were going to do new carpet too but when the sprung the service dogs on us we decided to wait. They can force us to allow two dogs but they can live with old carpet. Bb

I hate to tear out hardwood and replace with anything “vinyl”. That said, some of the LVP looks good and if holds up to the dogs and kids, seems like a good way to go.
The stuff at Costco looked pretty meh. Wasn’t terribly impressed from a cursory once over.
Thanks.

We put the top of the line Lifeproof stuff in a house we just bought in Alaska. Lots of wet snow here and a dog that loves being out in it and tracking it back inside. So far it's looking good, but we'll see if it looks as good a year from now.
The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who is going to stop me.

FWIW, I used Tranquility Ultra brand of LVP from Lumber Liquidators in the house I remodeled. 5 mm with a 20 mil wear layer. Way better than what Lowes or Home Depot sold.

I got the Lifeproof from HD on Roger's recommendation. I bought the thicker stuff. No complaints. Looks and wears great! Lifetime warranty.

Coretec plus is a good plank for the price point, a Shaw contract product.
I have installed miles of it in rental and commercial applications, no complaints on durability either.

Used in several homes, including one I built for us. We have German Shepherds, one customer has pitbulls. It hold up to that. There is a lot of work in tearing out tile and hardwood to put it in, though. This stuff requires a good subfloor surface, or imperfections will telegraph. I used luaun plywood screwed every six inches on a grid, over advantech. Worked out well. And, if it has to be changed in the future, it is one of the easier floorings to remove.
