It’s not like this house wasn’t past due for an update, but 3 months into this I am like “uncle” SOB just friggen shoot me. The sad thing is I am not a even anywhere near what other folks have done on scale or upgrade. I just want it over with, but damn, I have had better times at the dentist.

Blew out some walls, all new hard wood flooring on the main level but not the bedrooms. New appliances new counter top, some existing cabinets painted and some new ones added.

Finished ours about 7 months ago and it was a fairly significant project.
Added sq footage, new roof, new HVAC, kitchen, bathroom, solar, etc
What I'm finding is it's more work unpacking, decorating, hanging art and photos then I predicted.
Still stumbling over boxes....

I think you may need a care package from some MJ friendly states! Renovations are tough , especially when you are the only one with any related skill sets!

When we had our hardwood floor put in it took about 3 weeks to get the flooring, the company yanked the carpet out the first day. I swear in those 3 weeks, we found every damn staple they missed.

Ours started with a simple paint job in a bedroom. It turned out well. And it made the hall look shabby, and then the next room, and so on.....
Now the bath and kitchen are under the scrutiny microscope. Gets more costly the further you get in the house.

During our Reno we had all new power put in, antique electrical. It was November so chilly. Company was great. He had about 20 guys at the house. No power, cold and sitting on plywood cuz no flooring...lol we had a fire going so it wasn't too bad.
Inspector came by and said he would be back Monday to inspect. The owner of the company said he can come back whenever, powers going on tonight. About 2 hours later, they threw the main breaker and it was nice.
Inspector came back on Tuesday to inspect the box and everything and signed off. He said he worked with them before and always did top job work so he wasn't worried about them throwing the switch Friday night for us.
