Wife asked me how much our stimulus checks were that we got and I said $600 and then $1200 each.

So I double checked online and we should have gotten them both in 2020.

But a search indicates a 3rd stimulus check (maybe $1400) supposedly approved at the end of 2021 or beginning 2022.

Anyone get a 3rd stimulus? I haven't used the first two yet.

Funny,
The wife called the IRS this AM at 7[when they start answering] concerning our $1,400ea that wasn't received.
They gave us a deposit date, acct# and routing #.

The acct# they gave is to an account we closed in late 2020 and the routing # does not match our routing # on checks for the same bank.

F*uck a bunch of stimulus checks.

One of the reasons we're seeing the current inflation, and no one seems to make the connection.

I showed 2 in my bank statement and that is what I put on my tax form...but wife said we got one came as a debit card. I think the third one was just for people who had chilluns. Save the chilluns.

Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

I get the connection and wasn't pleased with ANY of these 'payments' including those that Trump signed on to.
But by damn if crackhead XYZ and baby momma ABC are getting them without paying any taxes then give me mine!

They shouldn't be getting checks either, and two wrongs don't make it right.

Oh yeah it is.
But not a popular opinion around these parts.

No worries, someone else probably applied for it in your name and received it. They are most likely grateful.

The stimulus checks that Trump went along with was a big mistake on his part. He should have explained to the nation what that would cause.

It's good. Because when you complain about the welfare state people can understand what you're saying.

He shouldn't HAVE to explain what it causes. It's high school economics.

That said - there used to be a congress guy - would add stuff to bills he knew would pass, then vote against it to say "I'm against the pork". I brought that up here and was told "that's how he's getting tax dollars stolen from his constituents back to them"

Really no difference then than the stimulus.

What triggered our inflation started as Bush left office with him bailing out the auto industry.
It continued through the Obama administration and then the Trump administration and now the Biden years with endless bailouts and stimulus money's to keep our economy alive.

It all worked so well at stimulating our economy we got to where we're at today.

We did it to ourselves.

My wife and I got zero! Trump authorized the first stimulus because he thought if he didn't the Republicans would surely lose both run off elections in Georgia.

We got a debit card for just over $300, bought some gasoline and groceries with it.
