All the news media is reporting that there are plenty of oil leases but the oil companies are just choosing not to drill to keep oil prices up. When Biden got into office he sent a memo to the acting (still not approved) Secretary of Interior Scott De La Vega (anti oil industry) giving him complete authority over all drilling permits. Complete authority with just a memo so he has stopped almost all drilling. This is a very good 30 minute long video of Sen.
