That new 264 mag ammo is availible here locally but in 2 different stores and they are both at 74.95/box. Quite a bit of 30-06 and 308@ 26.12/box. Load all my own so don't give a fug about what they charge. The day has come and gone when a guy could buy what he wants when he wants at a price he wants...

A lot of companies source primers wherever they can. I bought some ammo one time and I contacted them to see what kind of primers they used. They could not even tell me. They bought from whoever they could get the best deal from and mixed and matched.

Looks like the brass sat in a bin for a for the few years someplace in the humid south.
I wonder what could of caused that?

A buddy brought his 30-06 out yesterday with a box of 180 C-L’s. Primerswere different colors but it shot sub MOA and we banged steel at 400 and 600… 150’s did the same. I’d gladly hunt with either.

That's why I handload. IMO Remington ammo is junk.

Never been a Remington ammo fan, so I’m not surprised.

I know this is about Remington but I bought some Winchester ammo for 30-30 about 2 years ago and some of the bullets were loaded into the case backwards. I think they are in such a hurry

I'm thinking a lot of the brass and primers were old stock that's been sitting since Remington's demise. New stock moving into the system probably accounts for the new price increases.

If folks haven't been able to get their green boxes lately and have been shooting the other budget-ish options, I wonder how many will go back to green if it stays 20-30% more expensive.

Damn, Federal and Hornady didn’t have to spend 12-18 mos. and how many millions of dollars totally rebuilding a run down outdated ammo plant. Now you be bitching about them being priced higher. I know they should just suck it up and take the loss so y’all can pay the same price as before. Your options are open, either suck it up and pay more or quit buying it.

Thanks for that update, I thought Remington ammo was processed thru an existing Federal plant.

Still made in the Remington plant in Lonoke, AR.

Bought a couple boxes of.280 Remington ammo a few years back.
Green box.......
Nickel cases......
Some primers were silver and some were brass.... lol
I sent a letter off to Arkansas.... they said all ammo meets their specs before leaving the factory....... lol
Said some primers just missed the plating process.
Gotta say though.... they grouped just fine even when not matching primers.

When Rem closed the doors, you can imagine that they had barrels of brass in various calibers ready to load. That brass sat around in a shop with a lot of chemicals in the air along with humidity.

Some of the stuff in these pics are unbelievable. Got to work on that bonus money, so they got the stuff out the door!
