2 weeks ago I tore my calf muscle at work & was limped around for a few days. It felt OK, if a little tender, after about 5 days & even today, I could feel a little twinge occasionally.
Tonight I took the dogs out for a walk & was running up the driveway after them when I tore it again. I'm sporting a nice knot about halfway down my calf & need a few Aleves again.

Guess I'll go fishing tomorrow instead of walking in the woods......

Getting old may be rough, and I know for a fact it is, but it sure beats the alternative. wink

Spent some time visiting with the farmer where I dove hunt. He is 61 years old and is getting a new hip in a few weeks then a knee in the spring if all is well enough. Tough life for a great guy.

Lets face it, getting old is not for wimps!

Here's a news flash. As you get older yet,it doesn't get better, most of the time it gets worse

Nope, getting old surely ain't a purty thing but if you got grandkids it helps to smooth out some of the rough edges.

Old is no fun, I know because I no longer feel like I am getting older but rather I have arrived! On the other hand I am more relaxed and have a lot more fun than I did thirty years ago. Our six children are grown adults and our grandchildren are true joy. No, I would not go back for anything.

Maybe the aches and pains that start to show up as we get older, are just reminders of our mortality, and we don't like that. smile

Take good care and nurse that calf muscle. Fishing sounds like just the medicine. Yeah, I recently did some elk hunting, and the mountain floors are so dry and crackly loud, that I was doing alot of tiptoeing and jumping from rock to rock. This morning my heels and toes are screaming at me, a brand new ache and pain for this old soul. Will have to scale back some on next week's hunt.

Gettlin old has been good to me, I quit regular work at 50 & don't miss it at all. My boss is a 100 pound lab that wants to run morning, lunch, dinner & before bed, so I'm in better shape than when I spent my days behind a desk.

Oh I don't know, I keep a .45ACP hollow point available for the alternative. Drives my doctor nuts.

Here's what I think the alternative is: Medical science being to make my wife and me 18 year olds again with all our wisdom in tact. Now that's happiness!!! laugh

Fishing didn't suck. The weather was great, low 60's with a breeze, water was clean & the bite was fair.........

Great therapy for the body & soul..........
