Wanted to take a quick one and sincerely thank all the kindness, prayers and well wishes about my little medical vacation. Will be a few more days to reply to my PM messages.
The outreach and concern, I have been grateful for the friends and members’ support.
In January I started preparing for an elective (my choice) to get two non functioning and massively swollen, diseased kidneys removed. January and February was a solid 2 months of cardio training and ‘getting my house in order’. Surgery date was March 4. Was potentially a very risky surgery. Also paralleling that was myself trying get a few loose life ends tied up and home repairs caught up. Also need to get in my firewood for NEXT fall too.
Had a few bumps in the surgery, cardiac was did fine for 10 hours’ worth of anesthesia but I lost a lot of blood. Even though I was restored a few units, still the shock to the total system was a little too much for my current transplant. The hospital in Florida *may* have discharged me too soon. I came back home after 5 days in hospital there and within 3 days home was back in our local hospital in Nashville. Life threatening potassium spike and loss blood volume set me back a few more days.
Back home now, hope to be on the Campfire a little more. Still trying to bounce back. Thanks so much for good friends and all that sent prayers. Welcome back. Praying the worst is behind you!

Glad you are on the mend, one thing about people with a strong work ethic is they have a hard time relaxing and just healing. Take some time off and let your body recover. It's been through a lot.
