Do you think it would work ok for FN, GC bullets in a 30/30 for deer hunting, at around 1300-1400fps, or is it too soft?

Unless I'm mistaken the 20 to 1 will test 10 BHN. I've used alloy that soft in the 30-30 with gas checks at those speeds with no problems.

I’m shooting some 200gr GC’d, powder coated, sized to .358 bullets cast from straight wheel weights in my 350 Legend at 1750 and they are working great! Also some 190’s same prepped sized to .309 in 308 at 1757 average (shot and chrony’d them today) and they are also shooting well. I intend to use both rifles for deer this fall and not concerned about them being too soft.

Brad, what style of gun are you using, and do you have access to any clip on wheel weights?

This is what I've been going by as far as lead hardness. Sources; old Lyman manual, SAECO, Rotometals.
Lead Hardness
Pure Lead BHN 3-5
40-1 BHN 7-8
25-1 30-1 BHN 8-9 Wheel Weight
20-1 Tin/Lead BHN 10
16-1 BHN 11
1-1 Lead/Linotype Taracorp Magnum BHN 15 Lyman #2 Hardball
Linotype BHN 22
Monotype BHN 27-28
Heat Treated BHN 35
