I have a Model 12 in excellent condition. It is a 12 gauge, 2 3/4", full choke, field grade. SN 124xxx. Given to my father from his aunt who won it in a raffle. Dad wasn't a hunter, and I don't think it has even had 20 rounds fired through it. Where I live there does not seem to be a lot of interest in shotguns. What would be a fair asking price? Where would be the best place to list it for sale? I have checked Gun Broker and prices seem to be all over the place. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have also posted this in the shotgun forum. Thanks, Gary

Serial dates it to 1916 which is an early one. Sounds like a nice shotgun, unfortunately field grade model 12s in 12 gauge full are some of the most common ones. Condition would definitely help your sale but it sounds like a $600-800 model 12 to me.

On a good day. Old style butt stock with excessive drop is another negative. If the condition is as stated, perhaps it could go that high.

Thanks guys. I messed up on the serial number and left off an x. Manufacture date is 1950.
It does have some scratches on the top left side of the receiver but other than that the finish is like new.
I would prefer not trying to sell on gun broker as I don't have a sales history with them. I just want to get a fair price for it. I wish I could post some pictures but so far, my attempts have failed.
I do have pictures that I can email if anyone is interested. Thanks, Gary

Your best bet is probably to advertise it locally and hope it's just what someone has been looking for. GB and consignment sales will take a big bite out of that relatively small pie. They’re fine shotguns, but today’s major market is in 3” autos with tubes, camo, and often optical sight capability.

Ideally, you’d keep it and use it yourself. Not much out there that compares if you like machined steel and walnut and forever quality.

Try putting your pics in the ‘Image Gallery’

I did get the pictures into the Image Gallery but do not know how to add them to this thread.

Just looked at 5 or 6 at Cabela’s. They are asking 300 to 400 more over 800.
