I know a woman that snores beyond belief. Funny thing is she denies it. Does she need Sinus Surgery??? I wish I could open her up so I can get some real sleep!!!! Martin

She needs a CPAP most likely.
Had a cardiac workup in the last 5 years? Sounds like a cardiologists wet dream if not.

If she needs a CPAP, get it done ASAP. No kidding. Schedule what they loosely call a "sleep study" (not much good sleep involved). It has long term health effects.
Usually the first study is at home, with a recording oximeter on her finger. No discomfort at all. Data goes to the doc, who sees her blood oxygen all night long. If it's low, then the discussion is about oxygen levels, not about snoring. That is an easier conversation. The all night effort comes later if 02 levels dip down.
Be not weary in well doing.

Martin,
Some questions for you.
1. is your wife over weight. if so losing some weight may result in stoping the snoring. this will be the first options that your dr will ask her to do. 2. does your wife nod off while sitting down. if so she may need to be evaluated for sleep apnea. 3. Does your have sinus infections. again and again. She will need to see a good ENT doctor.
I have had 4 sinus surgeries, continuous sinus infections over the years, and found a good ENT doctor and my issues were taken care of.
I snored if I sleep on my back, however the only time I do that is when I am in my recliner.
again, The first thing the doctor will ask your wife to do is try and lose some weight if she is over weight.

I have had sinus surgery but it wasn’t for snoring, it was from boxing when I was young, apparently I wasn’t very good. Doc told me my sinus cavity looked like a flattened drinking straw. I can now breathe much easier since the sinuses have been routed out.
A buddy of mine got a cpap for his snoring and now said he feels like he actually gets restful sleep and he quit snoring. Not sure this helped much but it’s my limited experience.
