Which of these rifles would you say has better accuracy?

Hmm, between the two mentioned...I'd go with the Sako.

But if I had my choice, I'd second Stick's vote....SUCKS action.

Both of these are over the counter buy,s not custom rifles, the sako is the sako 75 stainless.

I'd prefer to spend that amount of loot on a Custom SUCKS and would wager the farm it would not disappoint on paper.

Personally, I hunt with Sako's and I like them a lot (the older Ltwt Hunters). The whole gun fits my body perfectly, scope and all. The newer 75 shoots just as good, fits me well, but it is heavier.

I wouldn't buy the Accumark, (I have Weatherby also in Ultra LtWts). Just personal. The Weatherbys (in standard wt.) are really "pigs" after the scope has been mounted. The action is a heavy one.

I would go for the Sako 75. In my opinion the action is smoother than Weatherby. The Sako`s i have seen are also very accurate. I also like the sotck design and the barrel profile of the Sakpo better than Weatherby`s.

Two of my deer hunting partners started with a Weatherby FiberMark in 257. Both were less than happy with the accuracy they were getting. One Traded "up" to the AcuraMark. He took a beating in the trade IMO, and is still unhappy with it's accuracy. The other traded or sold his and replaced it with a 25-284. I know Weatherby says their rifles are up to MOA. And they are, until the barrel warms up. But MOA is about ALL that can be achived.

The Sako 75 has a lot that apeals to me, but no matter how you look at it, it still has a factory tube.

Not long ago I was shoping for a good deer rifle. I was looking at Weatherby and Sako just as you are. Considering the price range and what you get for that money, I decided to build a custom rifle based on a 700 action. I did and I have a MUCH better rifle for LESS money than a Weatherby or Sako.

My custom rifle has all the features I liked about those factory rifles and none of the features I did not like. Plus, I have a high grade match quality barrel.

I'd do it again, in a heart beat.

I don't know much about the Weatherby line of rifles, I do however know a lot about the Sako line and their lack of customer service. I have a 75 SS that went back for service and came home in the same shape as when I shipped it to them, I might add here, I paid good money to ship it to them. The barreled action was loose in the stock, even with the screws tight you could move the action from side to side as the stock was inletted much larger than the action dimensions.

Dollar for dollar you will well ahead of the game with a Remington actioned custom. I really don't care which action has the smoothest action, as I don't set around working a rifle action, when in the field hunting I don't feel the rifle recoil nor do I feel how smooth the action is, I do however care how well it shoots.

Well I see there are not many weatherby fans here. Well I have one of those "avoid like the plague" Accumarks with a Bell & Carlson stock and I love it. Mine is a .340 wby and it shoot very well. My hunting load is easily under 1 inch with Barnes X's. I'd say if your only looking at thest 2 guns then go pick them up and see which one you like better. I like them both. The downside to both of these is that they are heavy. The guys on this site know a ton about DIY custom guns. And they can shoot. I am going to try this route for my next rifle. You get more choices this way. But if your only looking at a off the shelf gun. I'd go with the Wby because I like their stocks.. but that's me. Good luck

This one is easy. Go to the Weatherby web site and look at the guarantee(1 1/2" or better) and then go to the Sako web site and look at their guarantee(isn't one). Advantage Weatherby. Lawdog

I would throw rocks at a 1 & 1/2 inch rifle. And put it on a table at a gun show. A bolt rifle that won't shoot better than one and a half MOA? Ain't much of a guarantee there.........................

Show me one factory built, mass produced rifle with a better guarantee!! Don't say Remington as they say that any of their rifles that shoot 3-4" at 100 yards is within factory specifications(already been around the horn with Remington on this). Winchester and Ruger are almost as bad(2"). Savage won't say. All of my Weatherby's shoot well under the guarantee. In fact under an inch is the norm. Lawdog

i think all sako's must shoot 1" before leaving the factory. thats what they advertise anyway. i doubt there are many sako's out there that wont shoot 1"in the right hands.

I don`t know what Sako does, but many european rifel makers deliver their rifels with the fabrics test target in the box. In my eyes it is a better guarantee than a written claim in a commercial or at a factory`s website. Ask for the test target before you buy, and you can see just how well that specific rifel shoots.
