I put a Vortex Venom 3 MOA on my Gen 5 MOS Glock 34. Went to range and set a big target up at 15' and fired five shot groups. I can not get the Red Dot elevation to zero and after running out of elevation adjustment I am still hitting a foot high.

This is my first Red Dot on a pistol and I had no issues when I put a Trijicon MRO on my Banshee pistol carbine and have mounted and zeroed all of my optics for over 40 years. Anyway, I am open to suggestions and will be calling Vortex on Monday.

I will even read the directions again, but how hard can it be?

Long time ago I had a red dot that had problems with getting to zero. It was like half the adjustment wasn’t there.

I prefer classic.

Not surprising. Garbage overseas holosun/vortex/burris reflex sights aint cheap. Then, the aimpoint and trijicon ones are insanely expensive.

Thought about giving up on the reflex sight, but will try the made in the USA leupold deltapoint next. Middle of the road pricing

!AK, I have that exact sight on a Blackhawk in .45 colt. It was no trouble to sight in and has been on the gun for several years and held up fine. Hundreds of range rounds and several hunting seasons. Sounds like yours might be defective.

Send it back. Even if there is some radical mounting height mismatch between the slide and the sight, that amount of error doesn't make sense.

I'm probably in the minority but I stick with the trijicons for this. They are getting b**chslapped at high speed every time the slide cycles. Robust electronics and anal QC costs money, unfortunately. I know some people have decent luck with the cheaper red dots but I think there is a bit of a rolling the dice aspect involved.
