I know a woman who was bit on the nose by a fiddleback while gardening.

She had plastic surgery on her nose.

I never put on a pair of work gloves without placing them on a hard surface and stepping on them.

Once was enough.

My wife is missing half of her left tricep. She passed out crossing the stage at graduation receiving her diploma. Turns out it was brown recluse bite. My co worker got bit in the arse about a year ago it was a nasty one but healed up.

Good plan. I once found a black widow in a pair of work gloves I left on the porch. I now shake everything out before I put them on.

Ren50 told me his buddy WillyG kept getting spider bites out in the cornfield.

I personally think it was just some gram-negative folliculitis from his lack of personal hygiene skills. I mean sour-milk body oder is a dead give away. And why would brown recluse be in newly sprouted sunny corn field? That aint exactly Nana’s attic.

I beat the snot out of my muck boots before I put my foot in one and I don't know that BR and BW live around here. I've never seen on, but scared [bleep] about one being in my boot.

I've only ever seen one Brown Recluse in this area - but thousands of Black Widows.
I got bitten on the ankle, while sleeping one night. It wound up leaving a brown scar about the size of a quarter.
Worked one summer down by Columbus, NM. I used to shake out my clothes before dressing, and my roommate thought it was silly.
One morning, he gave his pants a snap, and a ~6" centipede came flying out of one leg.
John looked at me and said "I never do that!"
But he was religious about it after that.
The desert is full of creepy, crawly things that are nasty.
