Anyone have any info on the Winchester model 101 (12g) Water Fowler. I believe it was only made one year, 1981. It came with 32" barrels and screw in chokes. Looking for a ballpark value? Or any info.

No more value than any other 12ga 101 in my opinion. Very few out there seeking a longer heavier 40yr old Japanese made 12ga. You could look at similar Citori from that era as a guide post.

The waterfowler model brings a premium due to the longer barrels and factory win chokes (same threads as Browning Invector) Over unders with 30 and 32" barrels with screw in chokes bring a premium because of the Clay shooting sports, sporting clays in particular. Probably $1200 to $1400 if it's in good shape.

I have one in the factory case that I shoot when I'm shooting clay birds with a 12 ga. I also have the 20ga version with 30" barrels that I like even more.

You have a Win 101 20 gauge "Waterfowler".......a nice snag for you.

The 20ga isn't a Waterfowler; just called the 101 Magnum I think. 30" barrels 3" chambers. I had it opened up from mod full to light mod and mod. Great for clays and birds.

There seems to be a discrepancy on how many years these waterfowler were made. One article states only 1981.My Blue Book says discontinued in 1987. A guy on Guns Of America has one and claims its a 1987.

I think the original 101 XTR Waterfowl run was 1981 only and the later guns were imported by Winchester classic doubles, a group of Winchester executives who continued importing the Nikko built shotguns after Winchester decide to stop import.

Winchester Classic Doubles offered the Model 101 Waterfowl Winchoke with 32-inch barrels through 1984 and for 1985 added a 30-inch version. But for 1986 it was back to only 32-inch. For 1987 the new offering was a 30-inch barrel gun with a dull sandblasted finish called the Waterfowler, which continued to be offered in the last 1988 catalogue."
