Russia want to buy Gold with Rubles? Who is taking that deal?  The 40% of Western Europe that uses Russian natural gas. Would you sell any physical gold that you have for Rubles? No but if I were freezing I might trade it for gas Or get it from other sources. Where would that be?

The markets will tell us when the back is broke. Once a few firms start selling it won’t stop. Until then, enjoy a 35k Dow. The market is looking better for some reasons. Maybe has factored in a Ukraine/Russia settlement of sorts. The Pacific Rim is mostly fed by Indonesia. Qatar has more than enough. Europe has plenty of shale petro yet undeveloped by agreement with Russia. Russia isn’t going to kill the golden goose with Europe.
