The DUI thread made me think about things.

That thread went into addiction, compulsion, & beyond.

This is about driving, and I know several that can drive better after having a few than the average crazy chunt on the road. Ponder that...

I am a sort of a reckless driver, a risk taker, just keeping it between the ditches, & usually above the speed limit when sober, go with the flow. I don't drive well when drinking, so I DON'T DO IT ! Among other reasons.

Otherwise, DANGEROUS drivers on the road for a multitude of reasons. It' can be war.

Are CELLPHOENES as dangerous as DUI's?

Hell! I saw a woman driving beside me on the interstate reading a book.

Just so many threats on the road these days.

A bit back in time the Myth Busters tested cell use and drinking. Cell did not involve texting, just answering some easy math problems etc. Phone was just as bad as alcohol.

A buddy I travel with is always keeping an eye out for texters IDing them a rig or two ahead. Pull up beside them, and he's right about 9 out of 10 times.

Going to work at 430 in the morning I see alot of folks on the phone. Can't drive straight, serious fluctuations in speed, change lanes and if someone is next to them they be damned. The light from the screen lights up the whole driver's side just about.

I'll pass em as fast as I can.

You may not drive when you’re drunk, but that didn’t stop you from writing when you’re drunk.

What Sir, on earth do you mean.

Re-read, one of my better attempts at a treatise on any subject.

Statistics, not opinion or my prowess in academics or English lit support my point.

10 hours and a lot of coffee, and it will be more clear, not everclear.
