My nemesis, eggplant. From a neighbor....

Sooooo, eggplant with a basil garlic sauce and leftover parmesan garlic hamburger buns which make the best crispy bread of all time...

The food DOES look great, but as a woodworker I could not help but notice that striking table!

Is there a story behind it? I've seen somewhat similar furniture made from logs recovered after a century or more of lying submerged in a swamp, lake or river, then raised and milled and used for furniture. The outer pieces seem to be oak, the inner ones something different, possibly cypress or old growth pine?

Just wondering - and guessing!

Hey John. I’d have to look at the paperwork if we still have. We bought the Ol place 20 years ago, the Ol lady wanted to fill up her dinning room with a “lifetime “ dinette set. We loaded up and headed over to Centralia to Ayala bros furniture and bought it. Damn nice setup, heavier than hell and built to last several lifetimes. Thanks for the compliment. 👊🏻

San Joaquin Delta asparagus, It don't get any better.

Memories. I used to drive from Pittsburg to the Sacramento produce market daily before (like leaving at 3:30 AM) heading off to high school. I would have breakfast at Alma's Cafe in Walnut Grove and meet farmers of the asparagus on my truck there.
