Great story, I've been in that situation being out of water while packing a bull out by myself. It is miserable.

Great story! I’m jealous you got to sleep in your warm bed between packouts! As an out of stater I get to pack out to my truck only. Although a running truck with heat and a soft seat and real food ain’t too shabby compared to a tent and flat sleeping pad. Now I’m considering writing up my CO archery elk hunt from last year where I missed 3 elk in a two day period. 😵‍💫 I know, I know…. I suck

Just seeing this. Great write up and pictures. Always enjoy reading about you’re adventures.

Really need to pull the trigger and try a SG. I really like my SO but I swear when it’s cold it’s noisy…. Great buck!

I like how open that is with patches of timber. Would be excellent to use the optics.

The older I get the more I am planning hunts like this rather than once or twice a year. Thanks for sharing and I'll say it again..
