Does anyone know the history behind the Remington XCR II 338 Lapua rifles? Saw one for sale and have the following questions:

Were 338 Lapua rifles regular production offerings or special order?
What years did they make the 338 and XCR II's?
Are the 338 Lapua's just regular 700 Long Actions?
1:10 twist barrels or something else?
Were multiple stocks offered?
Assume standard X-Mark Pro trigger (ugh)?
Overall accuracy?
Any other info that's relevant?
Market price today?

Thanks in advance!

I've seen 2 models, the XTR & a police model.

Same stock on both, different colored H-S Prec. that looks like the PSS model with the flat nose forearm.

The XTR was a cataloged item, it had a threaded muzzle with a screw on brake, the Police with a ported barrel. Made up to or nearly to the bankruptcy.

700 long action from all indications, maybe altered bolt stop or opened ejection port like the Ultra mag versions. Custom, or a non 700 extractor.

A chance some may have had 40x triggers, otherwise the ugh trigger.

Go to Gun Broker advanced search & look at completed auctions to see hat they've been bringing lately.

Yes, standard long actions, very close to the RUM pattern but for the feed rails were adjusted for the fatter cartridge.
The extractor was changed for a M16 style one.
Bolt stop was common with the RUM cartridges.
1:10 twist throughout.
HS Precision DBM setup, Gen 1 and then Gen 2 which dropped straight into the HS Precision stocks they shipped with (long action PSS type stock).

Despite some naysayers, the rifles worked no better or worse than any other factory Remington in any other cartridge. Keep the loads within specification and the rifles just plain worked.
