There are a couple available locally with good fit/finish and apparent function. For those who have/had them what are your thoughts? Obviously accuracy is a top concern along with reliability. Thanks for your comments.

Depends. 22 Hornet and 22K-hornets had some issues, IIRC. Dogzapper had a lot of firsthand experience working with KoO to troubleshoot customers rifle send backs. I recently bought a KoO Classic Varmint in 223 Rem. It shoots really good. I was told it depended on the model number.

I had a beautiful 82S 22 Hornet that had headspace issues. Incredible wood, quarter rib inletted and checkered grip cap and butt plate. A visual work of art...

This thread and the 2009 link makes me back away. It seems Kimber of Oregon version 1.0 is more of a crapshoot than Kimber of Yonkers 2.0. Ok thank you everyone...............

I had a Kimber of Oregon, 82 custom classic in 22H. It was very accurate and 100% reliable. Like a dumb ass, I sold it.

I bought my 22 Hornet Custom Classic around 1990, still have it, and no plans to let it go. Accurate with 45/46 gr bullets, doesn't like the lighter than 40 gr stuff that I've tried.

The Kimber 82 were/are terrific rifles and deserving of most of the praise they get. Prices on them have gone up substantially in the last couple years and they have become a collector item.
The centerfire Kimbers- 84s in particular are another story. When Kimber decided to go into the centerfire business, several magazines requested examples to test so they could write up reports on them. The examples they sent were rife with poor craftsmanship, didn't shoot well, had mechanical issues, and were generally not well received by the gun writers of the time. The resulting articles in several large gun magazines almost put Kimber out of business. The worst part of it is that Kimber didn't learn their lesson and continued putting out rifles that didn't improve on the problems of the past and the company ended up in bankruptcy for other reasons in the end and the company was sold. My understanding is the new Kimbers since then have been improved in reliability and craftsmanship, but I haven't had the opportunity (or misfortune) to try one....

I've yet to see a "bad" Kimber,of any genre and ESPECIALLY like the ones that "don't shoot". Hint. Am bolting a NIB KoO 84 223 together right now. Hint. Trying to decide what color to paint it. Hint...................
