I just picked up one of my bucket list guns... and I think I "stole" it!
Winchester Model 70 270 WIN, Featherweight, 22” barrel, 1988 year mfg. New Haven, Leupold Vari X iii 3.5-10, Leupy bases and rings, Butler Creek flip caps and neoprene Uncle Mike’s buttstock shellholder, Limbsaver barrel dampener with, smith&wesson leather, full shell box belt pouch and approx 120 rounds of ammo
Is this the WINLITE model? What's the value of one of these in 98% plus condition???
Yes, that is a winlite. Very nice rifle man. I'm sure it will be a great shooter too. Keep us posted. That is a very sought after model. As far as value, do you want its value in parts, or complete rifle and extras? The stock is worth upwards of $500.00 by itself. The fwt barreled action another $400-$500 in the condition you describe (98%) and based on new pics. The scope another $350.00-$400. The ammo just sweetened the deal you got, but depends on if it's factory ammo. That would be 6 boxes at about $30/box. That is another $180.00. The other small items do not add much to the value of the rifle. That's how I figure if I got a good deal or not. I'm thinking if you are like me, you probably paid around $675.00 for everything, if you indeed "stole it"...

The Browns don’t have the schnabel - they are nearly identical to the stock used on the magnum winlite supplied by McMillan - just less drop and a couple of other tiny differences.
It feels good to win one once in awhile! And this rifle just feels so right in my hands too!
I had to make up for the .270 I never should've let go... a .270 Westerner. I think it was the 3rd incarnation of the M70 Westerner from 2003ish? It was produced in the FN SC plant. It was never in their catalog!
I bought that one for <$500 a couple years ago. Although I made a small profit... I'm kicking myself for selling a potential collector gun! Sometimes I make poor choices.
You did great in my book. That’s a solid hunting rifle in my opinion and set up to hunt. I wished more makers would offer McMillan or similar today on their rifles. Saves me from having to swap em out!
I look at every old winchester with a junky stock and just wanna drop it in a McMillan, Bansner, Echols or Brown! Too bad the Browns and Echols are so expensive. The Bansners are looking pretty reasonable however! Now to find me a Classic Stainless in 30-06... well eventually! I can't be buying any more rifles right now (selling 2 others currently)! I shouldn't have bought this rifle... But I couldn't resist!

Same here ES. I love wood on some, but others beg for a better fitting stock.
Echols would be expensive, IF we could actually buy the darn things!

No doubt, Scotty. I could either start building wood furniture or making plastic bowls with all the stocks I used to have laying everywhere.

The Howa Alpine I just sold tonight... I LOVED the Bansner stock on it! Might have to pick up one for the .3006 m70 classic or fwt stainless that i BELIEVE I need... well I KNOW I WANT it!

The stainless featherweights with walnut stocks are nice rifles too. I lucked into one last year. It took me a long time to find it too. Keep looking, you'll run across just the right one.

Nice rifle. I have it's twin. The floorplate models, like yours, seem more desirable than the blind magazine models. You got a bunch of value in the extras as well. IMO, the rifle alone is worth around $900. Maybe even more in this crazy environment. The scope an easy $300 or more. The ammo is well over a dollar a round. The mounts, rings and other accessories just add more value. I think they handle really well. You done good.
