Lots of threads about line and leaders.
I thought I would post my standard set up.

Note: I troll cold water lakes for trout.
Anywhere from small planters to big Cutthroats and Browns

I use spinning gear, ultra light up to medium carbon rods in the 6-7 ft range.
Pfueger or Shimano reels size 500 to 2000.
Braid line, mostly Sufix 832, 6 to 12 lb with a bead.
I attach a P-line 3 barrel swivel to the braid with a double palmar, and then 2 feet of Seagar fluorocarbon and end it with a simple snap.

One my favorite trolling lures is this Rapala J-9 in Brook trout pattern.
Seems to work everywhere on 12” planted Rainbows to 6 lb Cutthroats.

I like a heavy braided line, dogeared sinkers, a mono hand tied spinner.

On my riggers I run 12 pound Big Game tied to a 8-10 foot fluorocarbon leader, usually 8 pound test. Duolock snap and then either DB Smelt, top gun, or some cheap blank I taped myself.

Leadcore is a 30 foot 8 pound leader and the lures mention above or a mooselook which I think fishes better on lead. If I’m fishing for lake trout or whitefish, a stickbait of some sort. Rainbow trout color is usually a staple.

Makes perfect sense. Thanks.
