Needing something new to play with.
Pickin's are pretty slim at the LGS.
MIGHT mess around and trade into a T3 lite in the almighty Creedmoor round.

What's the consensus on these....?
Hate to sound like a freaking liberal... but it FEELS good..... lol

Tikkas are probably amongst the easiest, if not the easiest rifles to get accuracy. The 6.5CM version is especially so. Can't go wrong.

Yep.

Didn't know 6.5 Creedmoor owners were liberals. Thanks for your opinion, but that has not been my experience.

I have Tikka T3's in 308 and 6.5 CM. The 308 is the 2nd most accurate rifle I've ever owned. The 6.5 is the most accurate. I also have a T1x in 22 LR. It is the most accurate 22 I've ever owned.

The only way it could get better is if it were a 6mm creedmoor.

It would be VERY hard to go wrong with a Tikka in 6.5 Creed.

That.

Though if it were me, I hate to trade anything away and later regret it. I’d try to buy it outright.

I have two Tikkas. I liked the first one so much, I bought another one...in the same cartridge. Just not in 6.5 CM.

One thing I will say about those two rifles (one blued, the other stainless) is that Sako must have excellent quality control over the Tikkas they produce. A reload that works in one, works in the other with similar accuracy.

Nailed it. It don’t get no easier. They put the M+ mags in their 6.5’s and really let’s the get work the way it should.

I’ve got 4 now (6.5CM, .308, .300 Win Superlites & a 6.5 CM Compact)

Sort of ridiculous how well they shoot in comparison to the hoops I used to jump thru for simple, consistent groups with other brands. I didn’t believe it until I bought my first, a .308, shot well under an inch at 100y with 150gr factory power points with zero fanfare. Handloads have only improved the accuracy.

Selling several old 700’s that take constant load work to equal what the T3x does out of the box.

I have quite a few Tikka's, I really like them. They have just been a bargain too it seems. I buy every used I can find for $500 or less. Dont see that too often anymore, but every once in a while. Then I started selling Tikka's to upgrade to the Superlights while Sportsmans had them sub $700. That seems to be going away as well. My last Tikka 6.5 Creedmoor Superlight I converted to a 6.5 Weatherby RPM. It makes a nice light, sweet pointing rifle for the open prairies of North East Wyoming. Of course I only have it sighted in and have not shot enough to know how good it shoots, but its a Tikka. The Creedmoor SL comes with the longer barrel and 1:8 twist rate!

Someone posted an excellent video a while back of a couple of american gun show hosts getting a guided tour of the tikka/sako production plant.......impressive stuff.

Been thinking about one off and on for a while. Now I’m leaning towards one of the new CZ 600s, with their easy-to-swap barrels, bolt heads and magazines (within action-size family). A 6.5 becomes a 6 in a trice.

Actually hoping for a .223/6.5 Grendel/.224 model, but so far only have seen mid-sized and long ones.

I got lucky a few years ago at a cabell in Augusta ga and was able to snag a new t3 lite stainless left hand model as a clearance sale. It was $100 cheaper than the closest competitor. Sweet shooter in 30-06.

When you say "play", does that mean you love trying multiple different factory loads to see what it likes? Or if you handload, does it mean hours of joyful activity trying endless combinations of powders, bullets and seating depths to find The One True Load? Or if you like to tinker with rifles, does it mean the pleasure of spending many dollars over the price of the basic rifle changing out the trigger and other components?

If you answered yes to any of those then the Tikka is not for you.

Do they chamber 7-08...?
I'd actually rather have a 7-08 but they've only got two on the rack and they're both 6.5s...
