I found a "Mauser 98" barrel short chambered for the .375 H&H on one of the auction sights. So my question is what is the thread diameter and pitch of a Ruger 77 barrel? Could this barrel be fitted to a Ruger 77 after being shortened enough to rechamber to .375 Taylor? Somewhere in my house I have/had a set of specs for commercial and military actions from gunsmithing school but I can't find them now. Thanks, Sean

You'd have to wack off the entire threaded section. As I recall, the mauser thread is 1.2"X12 tpi, the Ruger 1 1/16"X16 TPI, but don't hold me to it.
